Brian has lived all his life in Kendallville with the exception of his college years and obtained his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University in 1985 and his funeral director license in 1986 after graduating from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.  In 1990 he married JoEllen Glass and they have four daughters - Brianna (Ryan) Bollier, Claire (Clint) Hoffar, Paige and Kathryn Anne DeCamp.  He has dedicated 33 years of his life to the ministry of helping families in the Kendallville area.  Brian purchased Hite Funeral Home in January 2006 and along with an exceptional staff continues the long held tradition of hometown service and old fashion values.

Summer keeps track of everything in the office!  Her attention to detail and organizational skills help make her excellent at what she does.  She handles many important responsibilities including answering phone calls, helping clients with insurance claims, account receivables and payables, just to name a few.  Summer is an invaluable asset to the funeral home running smooth and efficient and we appreciate her dedication.  She has two boys, Caden and Mason.

Chris has been around the funeral home since 2010 and stays busy getting things ready each funeral service.   She designs and prints memorial folders, bookmarks, and register books; creates memorial DVD's; takes care of the portraits; and keeps our online memorial tributes updated.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to all of her grandchildren's activities, and getting together with her friends.


John Cochard

John is the one responsible for keeping the funeral home looking nice!  He helps out in all kinds of ways from setting up, cleaning up, and assisting on funerals to keeping the cars clean.  John can fix just about anything!  He's a talented, jack-of-all-trades, and we appreciate all he does!  He is married to his wife, Stacy and they have three adult children Audrey Paul, Emily Cochard, and Justin Cochard and three grandchildren.

Carijane has been greeting family and friends at the doors of the funeral home with a warm smile and friendly "hello" since 2006.  Carijane was born and raised in Kendallville and graduated from Kendallville High School. in 1964, Ball State University in 1968, and St. Francis College in 1973. She taught business at East Noble High School for 15 years and was an elementary counselor at Wayne Center and South Side for 13 years.  She has been married to Robert (Bob) Farmer for 45 years.  They have two children, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.  She enjoys singing and cooking.

Another friendly face and welcoming smile to greet you when you come to the funeral home is Judy Campbell.  Judy was originally from Anderson and has lived in Kendallville since 1965.  She retired from Kraft Foods after 28 years of service.  She enjoys volunteering her time in the third grade reading program at Northside School with her therapy dog, Maggie.  Her hobbies are reading, movies, walking her two dogs and watching  sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts.

Susan is a lifelong Kendallville resident. She married Ben Wert 19 years ago and together they have four adult children: Ryan Alwine, Sarah Mosley, Stacey Moser and Jason Wert; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Susan is a Certified Medical Assistant and has been employed with Northeast Indiana Urology the past 23 years.  She is a member of First Christian Church and active in women's Bible study. She also volunteers with the Blood Mobile.  In her spare time, she enjoys flower gardening, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.

Zach was born and raised in Kendallville, Indiana and graduated from East Noble in 2009. He received his bachelor's degree from Grace College and Theological Seminary in 2013 and has served the past 6 years in vocational ministry. In 2016, he married Rebecca (Becki) Smith, who shares his passion for people and ministry. They have three nephews, three nieces, and two goddaughters. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, athletics, and family barbecues.

Shaleen was born in Fort Wayne and lives in the same house today that she grew up in! She graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1994 and is a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. She actively supports GiveHear and is their special events coordinator. Shaleen's been involved in funeral service in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area for eight years and is currently seeking to obtain her funeral director license. You may have seen Shaleen at a nursing or hospice home, hospital or private residence. She handles her role as first response caregiver with excellence. She has a daughter, Morgan, who is a college student.  Shaleen has a heart for people, loves serving others and taking care of children. She enjoys raising miniature ponies, snow skiing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Housekeepers

Meet our domestic engineers Nancy Adair, Sarah Hartman and Missy Schuman!  They know each other pretty well and make a great mother & daughters team!  Together they've kept the funeral home looking nice for the past twelve years!  All three along with their husbands and families they all make their home in Brimfield.  Nancy, Sarah and Missy work very hard to keep our facility spic and span!  We appreciate all they do to help keep the funeral home nice and clean.


Ron Hite

Ron had been a funeral director in Kendallville since 1964.  He was born in Ligonier and moved to Kendallville in 1943 when his father, Harold Hite became the funeral director of the Kendallville Mortuary Association which eventually became Hite Funeral Home in 1945.  In 1962 he married Marietta Mory and they have three daughters and five grandchildren.  Ron and Marietta sold the funeral home and retired in 2005 but still remained actively involved in the business and the Kendallville community.  God called Ron to his heavenly home on October 26, 2016.  We all miss Ron's presence here but we are assured, by the promises of God, that we will be together again in His kingdom that has no end.  Thank you, Ron, for your many years of compassionate service to Kendallville and the surrounding communities. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sarah (née Schwehn) and her husband Darrell live in Fort Wayne.  She has 30 years of experience in advance planning.  Sarah joined Hite Funeral Home in September 2013 to help families save on the cost of their funeral arrangements.  She enjoys spending time with her granddaughter Aurora and grandson Memphis.

Tom has lived in Fort Wayne for 25 years and has four children and five grandchildren, who all live in Fort Wayne.  For many years Tom served families in Northeast Indiana as a licensed insurance agent. He frequently referred his clients to Hite Funeral Home because of the exceptional value we provide to families. For this reason it only made sense for Tom to join the Hite Funeral Home team.
