BARBARA ALEEN VAN WAGNER, age 80, of Rome City, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at home.  Mrs. Van Wagner was born in Albion, Indiana on May 29, 1935 to Allen and Vera (Ackerman) Criswell.  She married Kenneth LeRoy Van Wagner on February 8, 1968 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Barb was a housewife and homemaker.  She also was a waitress at the B&S Truck Stop and the V&A Restaurant in Kendallville.  In later years, she and Ken hauled campers all over the country.  She loved doing yard work, carpentry work, fishing, and playing golf.  She also enjoyed playing the tambourine at church, working crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together and crocheting.

Survivors include: 
Her husband of 47 years, Ken Van Wagner of Rome City. 
Daughter, Deborah and Michael Chapman of LaGrange.
Daughter, Cynthia and Mathew Jordan of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Kathleen and Butch Skelly of Ashley.
Five grandchildren: Nikki Smith of Kendallville; Luke Jordan of Lake of the Woods; Bradley and Sarah Chapman of Garrett; Eric and Emily Jordan of Kendallville; and Megan DePew of Kendallville.
15 great grandchildren.
Brother, Fred "Fritz" and Garnett Criswell of West Virginia.
Brother, Larry Criswell of Wolcottville.
Brother, Mike and Sue Criswell Wolcottville.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Bloomfield and Bonnie Amerman; and her brothers, Louie Criswell, Richard "Dick" Criswell, Art Criswell, Paul Criswell, Edward "Jay" Criswell, Dean Criswell, Garman Criswell, and Thomas Criswell. 

Visitation will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Steve Herendeen.
Burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Casketbearers will be Luke Jordan, Bradley Chapman, Eric Jordan, Dakota Smith, and David and Austin DePew.
