BETTY RUTH SPENCER, age 85, of Kendallville, died on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville, Indiana.  Mrs. Spencer was born in Crooksville, Ohio on May 18, 1930 to the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Collins) Bowen.  She married Fenton Eugene Spencer and he preceded he in death in 1986.  Betty was employed with Monsanto in Ligonier for 18 years before retiring in 1985.  She loved to playing bingo, shopping, doing crossword puzzles and word searches, and spending time with her family.  She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville in the past.

Daughter, Patricia and Richard Grubb Middlebury.
Son, Dave and Becky Spencer of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Karen Huff of Kendallville.
Son, Doug and Susan Spencer of Kendallville.
Daughter, Regina Ross of Houston, Texas.
Daughter, Gywn and Ron Woodby of Kendallville.
Son, James Spencer of Albion.
Son, Joey and Squeak Spencer of Goshen.
34 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.
Sisters, Judy Crossen of Florida; Joann Marlot, Joy Hostetler, and Cathy Dollings of Zanesville, Ohio.
Sister, Sharon Pierce of Crooksville, Ohio.
Sister, Carla Christy of Columbus, Ohio.
Brother, James Bowen of Zanesville.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Schoup, who died in 2014; sisters, Cindy Fowler, Donna Printz, Tammy Jones, Patty Dawn Short; and brother, Dempsey Bowen.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Goebel Funeral Home, Crooksville, Ohio with visitation prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Crooksville, Ohio.
