Carol B. (Ross) Knafel

Carol Bertina Knafel, age 92, of Kendallville, formerly Rome City, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Kendallville Manor Healthcare Center.  Mrs. Knafel was born on September 13, 1924 in Valentine, Indiana to the late Wilbur and Zoah (Blue) Ross.  She was first married to Walter Wirick in 1942 and he preceded her in death in June of 1969.  She later married Carl Knafel in 1973 and he also preceded her in death in 2009.  

Survivors include:
Son, Jackie Wirick of Syracuse.
8 grandchildren.
Sister, Celia Myers of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Evalyn Fortman; her son, Phillip Wirick; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Becker and Juanita Warner; and brothers, James Jay Ross and Jack Wilbur Ross. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Wolf Lake Cemetery with Pastor Mike Albaugh officiating.  Arrangements entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.  Share a memory or send a condolence at www.hitefuneralhome.com.
