DANIEL LEE HEIMAN, age 69, of McClish Lake, died on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Mr. Heiman was born in Kendallville, Indiana on January 6, 1947 to the late Henry and Naomi  (Eshelman) Heiman.  He graduated from East Noble High School in 1965 and entered the United States Army serving his country during the Vietnam War while stationed in Germany.  He married Georgia Mae Bailey on October 8, 1977 at the Concord United Methodist Church in Concord, Indiana. He attended Hope Alive Minisitries in Avilla and was ordained into the ministry in 1990’s.  He was the associate pastor at Hope Alive Church for 10 years and he volunteered at Shelter Ministries in Auburn.  Dan was employed at Borg-Warner Gear in Auburn as a night shift supervisor for 19 years.  He was a member of American Legion Post 86, Kendallville.  Dan loved woodworking and riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.  In the past, he enjoyed competing in off-road motorcycle racing.  He was an avid gun collector and loved shooting guns.  He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and close friends.  

Survivors include: 
His wife of 38 years, Georgia Heiman of McClish Lake, Hudson.
Daughter, Beth Ann Galligher and Nick Landez and his daughter, Bailey of Kendallville.
Daughter, Tracie Allyn Douglas of Kendallville.
Two grandsons: Seth Daniel Danning of Angola and Carl Alvin,II and Megan Danning of Corunna.  
Three great grandchildren: ZaRyant Lee, Reianah Maree, and Jaxon Truman.
Brother, David and Betty Heiman of Avilla.
Brother, Henry,Jr. and Carol Heiman of Avilla.
Brother, Richard and Chris Heiman of Garrett. 
13 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Louis Heiman.

Visitation will be Monday from 3-8:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Al Wingfield.
Burial with military honors will be at Wright Cemetery near Stroh.
Memorial donations may be made to the family, to the church of choice, to the American Cancer Association, or to the  Diabetes Research Institute.
