Dixie (Aldrich) Krehl, age 84, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, Indiana. Dixie was born at home in Fairfield Township, DeKalb County on May 18, 1932 to the late Charles and Edwina (Sherlock) Aldrich. Dixie graduated from Waterloo High School in 1950, attended International Business College, and was employed with Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne. She married Norman D. Krehl on April 11, 1954 at the Church of Christ in Kendallville and was Norman’s helpmate on the farm. She was a devoted farm wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, West Fairfield, Corunna and the Jelly Dozen Club. Dixie loved her family and enjoyed music, needlepoint, reading, and collecting antiques.
Husband, Norman Krehl of Corunna.
Daughter, Twylla and Warren Carnahan of Corunna.
Daughter, Cheryl and Jeff Greenawalt of Fort Wayne.
Son, Roger and Christine Krehl of Corunna.
Five grandboys: Heath Pankop, Zane Pankop, Aaron Krehl, Michael Krehl, and Andrew Krehl.
Two great granddaughters: Josslyn Pankop and Amari Krehl.
Sister, Charlene Brunson of Fort Wayne.
Many grand nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Aldrich and Max Aldrich.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with Pastor Steve Koziol and Pastor Sam Weimer conducting the service.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to Heart To Heart Hospice or Lake James Christian Assembly or to the donor’s choice.
