Don Fredrickson

Don A. Fredrickson, age 74, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.  Mr. Fredrickson was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on January 24, 1943 to the late Arnold and Naomi (Rasp) Fredrickson.  Early on, Don was a farmer in Gresham, Nebraska and a Nebraska State Trooper for two years before moving to Kendallville, Indiana in 1968.  He was employed with Kraft Foods in Kendallville for 38 years.  He married Lois Jean Trowbridge on February 13, 1971 in the First Presbyterian Church in Kendallville.  Don was a member of the men’s choir while in college and he won many awards for his vocal talent.  He earned a degree in diamond grading from the American Gem Society and he was a member of Path of Life Community Church near Auburn.

Survivors include:
Wife, Jean Fredrickson of Kendallville.
Daughter, Helen Prater of Garrett.
Granddaughter, Elyssa Lewis of Garrett.
One niece, Charlene Fecht of Lincoln, Nebraska; three nephews, Kurt Fredrickson of Karney, Nebraska; Kent Fredrickson of Northbend, Nebraska; and Michael Fredrickson of North Platte, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Fredrickson.

A private family gathering and memorial service will be planned for a later date at the Fredrickson’s home.
