Duane Neil VanWagner

Duane Neil “Pete” or “Shorty” VanWagner, age 78, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his residence near Wolcottville.  Mr. VanWagner was born in Kendallville, Indiana on December 5, 1938 to the late Basil and Lucille (Beiswanger) VanWagner.  He graduated from Kendallville High School in 1957 and served his country in the United States Army.   He married Joan Chaffee on June 30, 1963 at the South Milford Church of Christ in South Milford.  Duane owned and operated Green-A-Lawn since 1991 and he was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange, Knights of Columbus, LaGrange Chapter, American Legion Post 215, and served as the LaGrange County GOP Precinct Committeeman for Johnson Township. He was also on the Advisory Board to the Johnson Township Trustee. 

Survivors include:
His wife, Joan VanWagner.
Daughter, Laramie Birch.
Son, Tim and Tricia VanWagner.
Daughter, Kerri and Bill Walz.
Five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Brother, Paul and Karen VanWagner.
Sister, Beverly and Tim Shriner.
Brother, Gayle and Linda VanWagner. 
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack VanWagner.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 50 N. 100 E., LaGrange, Indiana.
Memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 12:00 PM. 
Father J. Steele will conduct the memorial mass. 
Memorial donations may be made to Turnstone or Visiting Nurse & Hospice.
