Ellen (Parks) Cox Holliman

Ellen Arlene (Parks) Cox Holliman, age 87, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Mrs. Holliman was born July 2, 1930 on the Parks family farm near Kendallville to the late Howard Christopher Parks and Arlene May (Wooster) Parks. She graduated from Avilla High School in 1948 and married Sidney Roberts Cox in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1997.  She later married Bishop Holliman on July 8, 2000 in Gadsden, Alabama and he survives.  Ellen loved her family and her dog, “BB”, who was her constant companion.  She touched many lives through her faith in God and she was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla.

Survivors include:
Husband, Bishop Holliman of Avilla.
Sister-in-law, Helen Parks of Avilla.
Many nieces, nephews and cousins. 
Step children; Glenn Holliman, Becky Payne, Alice Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her eight siblings Gerald (Nelda) Parks, Helen (Ed) Fritz, Jeanette (Harry) Henney, Clifford (JoAnn) Parks, Ruth Parks, Donald Parks, Forrest (Monna) Parks, and Richard Parks

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church with calling one hour prior to the service.  The Reverend Jared L. Parks, Ellen's great nephew, of the Assembly of God Church in Terre Haute and Rev.Shalimar Holderly of Calvary United Methodist Church will officiate the funeral service. 
Burial will follow at Avilla Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Big Oak Ranch (boy's home) in Gadsden, Alabama.
