EMMA CATHERINE HEILEMAN, age 87, of rural Kendallville, died on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla, Indiana.  Mrs. Heileman was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 22, 1928 to the late Otto and Catherine (Lawrence) Omspacher.  She married Christly Walter Heileman in January 2, 1960 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville.  Chris preceded her in death October 9, 1982.  Emma was a farm wife, mother and homemaker.  She loved to put out a big garden every summer and she enjoyed canning and freezing the produce.  She loved doing the chores on the farm, hosting holiday family dinners, Christmastime, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church near Kendallville.  Emma loved her church family and for many years was a member of Lydia Circle and the church choir.  She was also a past member of the Allen Township Extension Homemaker's Club.

Survivors include: 
Daughter, Judy and Ben Myers of Kendallville.
Daughter, Christine Heileman of Marion.
Son, Ray Clevenger of Brimfield.
Son, Michael and Sheri Heileman of Poway, California.
9 grandchildren: Teresa and Travis Moore of Kendallville; Julia and Craig Ferguson of Kendallville; Matthew and Gina Myers of Avilla; Renee and Michael Peoples of Mongo; Cassandra and Cheyenne Carpenter of Albion; Melissa and Doug Aker of Kendallville; Cindy and Craig Morrison of San Diego, California; Ricky and Tina Heileman of Washington, D.C.; and Timothy and Jessica Heileman of Arizona.
27 great grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.
2 great-great grandchildren and 14 step great-great grandchildren.
Sister-in-law, Marilyn Omspacher of Garrett. 

She was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Heileman, who died in January of 1983; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Harper; and her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 1-5:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church near Kendallville. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the funeral service at the church.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Phyllis Smoot.

Burial will be at Sweet Cemetery near Albion.

Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church or the St. Frances unit at the Sacred Heart Home.
