Eugene Howard

EUGENE HOWARD, age 78, of Kendallville, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Howard was born in Garrett, Kentucky on February 6, 1929 to Melvin and Dora (Click) Howard.
He married Oma Jean Manns on July 16, 1948 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

He retired from General Motors after 33 years and was a member and deacon of Salem United Baptist Church in Kendallville. He loved to go fishing and boating and enjoyed going for walks.

Survivors include:
His wife of 59 years, Oma Jean Howard of Kendallville.
Daughter, Connie and David McMann of Oscoda, Michigan.

Five grandchildren: Dr. Shannon McMann of Troy, Michigan; Shawn McMann of East Pointe, Michigan; Kimberley McMann of Ferndale, Michigan; Marion Mazurek of Kendallville and Chad Mazurek of Clarkston, Michigan.
One great grandchild, Haley Mazurek.

He was preceded in death his daughter, Peggy Ann Mazurek; all eight of his brothers and sisters; and
infant son, Charles Edward Howard.

Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2007, anytime after 12:00 noon at Salem United Baptist Church, on State Road 9 North.
There will be an evening service at 6:00pm with Rev. Glenn Jackson and Rev. Tony Sparkman leading the service.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Billy Ray Tuttle and Rev. Elmer Slone officiating the funeral.
Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
