Geneva Josephine (Deckard) Albright

Geneva Josephine Albright, age 94, of Lafayette, passed away June 14, 2016 at Indiana University Health Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born in Tippecanoe County on October 1, 1921 to James and Emma (Atkins) Deckard.  Geneva was a housewife, mother, loving Grandmother and Great-grandmother.  She worked at Purdue University for 11 years. She was married to Dick Albright, and they farmed at Clarks Hill before retiring in 1987. Dick preceded her in death July 3, 2012.

Survivors include a son, Bob Albright of Colorado; companion LaVerna Phillips; daughters, Peg and Tom Mellady of Lafayette, and Judy Cornell, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan, a son, Jim, 3 brothers, Jim Deckard,
George Deckard and Charles Deckard, 5 sisters, June Mekos, Shirley McCullough, Helen Blair,
Evelyn Campbell and Grace Fancher.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior at 12:00pm at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 1526 South 18th Street, Lafayette, IN 47905. 
Burial will take place at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Officiating the funeral service is Pastor T.J. Jenney.
