Henry William “Hank” Utermark, age 93, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.   Mr. Utermark was born December 21, 1923 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late William and Emma (Hering) Utermark.  He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII and was married to Mary Bianco. They moved to Kendallville in the 1980’s coming from Homewood, Illinois and Mary preceded him in death in December of 1997.  Hank retired as the water plant superintendent for the City of Kendallville. He worked part time at Chain-O-Lakes State Park and was a reserve officer with the Noble County Sheriff.  He also was a volunteer fireman in Homewood, Illinois for many years.  He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post 86 in Kendallville.

Survivors include:
Son, Edward and Janice Utermark of LaOtto.
Son, Henry William Utermark, Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia.
Four grandchildren:  Michael and Tiffany Utermark of Lafayette, Indiana; Lisa Utermark and Todd Steward of Kendallville; Katarina Utermark and Matthew Utermark both of Roanoke, Virginia.
Three great grandchildren; Blake Western, Jordan Utermark and Mason Utermark. 
He was preceded in death by sisters, Emma Mae McClean and Wilma McClean; and a brother, Fred Utermark.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services with military honors will be held also on Friday at 5:00 PM with Pastor Robert Shriner officiating. 
Burial will take place Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM (EST) at Homewood Memorial Gardens, Homewood, Illinois.
