Henry "Leroy" Cravens

Henry "Leroy" Cravens, age 76, of Corunna, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.  Leroy was born on July 1, 1941, in Antwerp, Ohio, to Henry and Pearl (Handy) Cravens.  He graduated in 1959 from Fairview High School in Farmer, Ohio.  Leroy served his country honorably with the United States Navy from 1959-63 while obtaining his degree from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.  He married Karen Heidel on April 7, 1962.  Leroy was the first certified master optician in the state of Indiana where be both practiced and taught opticianry for 20 years.  Then, he worked in industrial management for another 20 years until retiring in 2003.  Leroy enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing cards.  He especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. 
Survivors include:
Wife, Karen Cravens of Corunna.
Daughters: Suzanne Winebrenner, Denise Cravens, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Cravens all of Fort Wayne.
Grandchildren: Alex Richards; Cameron, Devin, and Christian McCalla; April and Abby Cravens.  
Great-grandchildren: Katy and Gideon Richards.
Brother, Donald and (Carol) Cravens of Bryan, Ohio.
Sister, Juanita and (Jim) Mason of Middletown, Missouri.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, son, Brian Cravens, and son-in-law, Rex Winebrenner.  

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00am with visitation from 9:00am-11:00am at First Christian Church, 110 Waits Road, Kendallville, Indiana 46755.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Bob Farmer.
Memorial donations may be directed to First Christian Church.
