Joan (Drerup) Raney

JOAN E. RANEY, age 93, of Kendallvile, died on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.  Mrs. Raney was born in Kendallville, Indiana on August 14, 1922 to the late Frank and Rose (Ley) Drerup.  She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1940 and she married Robert Raney on February 14, 1942 in Kendallville.  Joan was a housewife and homemaker and she enjoyed knitting, crotcheting, and taking care of her flower gardens.  She attended the Immaculate Conception and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include: 
Husband, Robert Raney of Avilla.
Daughter, Bobbie and Erick Batchelor of Dubois, Wyoming.
Son, John and Sue Raney of Canon City, Colorado.
Five grandchildren: Robert Turk of Houston, Texas; Christopher Turk of Houston, Texas; Janell Turk of Houston, Texas; and Amber Raney of Anchorage, Alaska.
8 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Urban and two sisters, Evelyn and Lorraine.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla with visitation one hour before the service.

Officiating the funeral service will be Fr. Jacob Gall.

Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
