LEE JAY PILZ, age 39, of Wawaka, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Indianapolis.  Lee was born in Elkhart, Indiana on March 29, 1975 to Donald Lee Pilz and Anne Reidenbach.  He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1993 and Purdue University in 1998 with a degree in turf management.  He married Melissa Ann Jester on February 21, 2004 in Cancun, Mexico. He was the assistant golf course superintendant at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.  Lee was a grounds keeper there for the past 15 years.  He loved playing golf, fishing and hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include: 
Wife, Melissa Pilz of Wawaka.
Daughter, Amanda Pilz of Warsaw.
Daughters, Kayla Pilz and Briana Pilz at home
Mother, Anne Reidenbach of Oliver Lake near Wolcottville.
Sister, Rigel and Sean Griffith of Temecula, California.
Niece, Rajah Griffith of Temecula.
Maternal grandmother, Jean Reidenbach of Albion.
Aunt, Maureen Reidenbach of Fort Wayne.
Uncles, David and Myrna Reidenbach of Wawaka and John and Patrice Reidenbach of Fort Wayne.
Uncles, Charles Johnson and Owen Johnson of Ohio
Aunts, Mae and Jim Calvin and Shirley Wade of Ohio. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Pilz, who died June 4, 2008;  maternal grandfather, Jay Reidenbach, who died June 10, 2014;  and paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Beulah Pilz.

Visitation will be February 26, 2015 from 3:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street, Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00am at Hite Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Thomas Clothier officiating the service.

Memorials may be made to college fund for his children.  Make checks payable to Melissa Pilz.
