Luecreta (Gibson) Gibson

LUECRETA GIBSON, age 98, of Kendallville, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at son’s home.  Mrs. Gibson was born in Wise, Virginia on April 25, 1917 to the late James Gibson and Cosbie (Collins) Gibson.  She married William   Gibson on November 18, 1933 in Clintwood, Virginia.  Luecreta was employed by Hymatic and Essex Wire in Kendallville.
Luecreta loved her children and her family and would do anything for anybody.  She loved quilting, making butter, tending to her beautiful flowers, raising a big garden each year, and canning her garden’s harvest.  She loved attending church and her church family at the True Church of God.

Survivors include: 
Daughter, Mildred Banks of Avilla.
Son, Emory and Mary Gibson of Kendallville.
Son, Worley and Faye Gibson of Kendallville.
Daughter, Cosbie and Bud Salisbury of Albion.
Daughter, Mary Sue Halferty of Avilla. 
Son, Arthur and Sally Gibson of Waterloo.
Son, Wendall Recie Jay and Billie Gibson of Rome City.
Daughter, Elizabeth and Mark Pelfrey of Kendallville
Son, Melvin and Vickie Handshoe of Garrett.
45 grandchildren, 111 great grandchildren, and 28 great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Polly Stanley of Kendallville.
Sister, Nanny Handshoe of Kendallville.
Her two dogs, Bo and Parker.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, William Gibson, died September 17, 1991; infant son, Mitchel Gibson (1934); Marie Conley (1965); Brenda Blackburn (1999); Thurman Gibson (2009); Flossie Martin (2012); sisters, Ethel Scott and Vonnie Boggs; brothers, Birtchel Gibson, Jack Gibson, Harve Gibson; ten grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2015 after 1:00pm at the True Church of God In Jesus' Name, Lisbon.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00pm at the True Church of God In Jesus' Name.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Willie Collins.
Burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
