Madaline Joyce (Chapman) Smithhart

Madaline J. Smithhart, age 68, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. She was born October 9, 1949 in Logansport, Indiana to Leo Chapman and Lorah (Hettinger) Campbell. She graduated from Pioneer High School in Royal Center, Indiana. She worked for and then owned Mister Donut in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She also worked for North American Van Lines, and she spent some time working as a nurse’s aide in a nursing home near Logansport, Indiana. She enjoyed playing cards and computer games. She was very talented at decorating and gardening. She loved Mexican food and the occasional margarita. She spent much of her time with her family and her dog Buddy.

Granddaughter, Cassie (Jarred) Gladieux
Granddaughter, Erica (Joseph) Puckett
Madaline was preceded in death by her husband Bob Smithhart

A small private family celebration of life will be held. Memorial donations can be given to Parkview Hospice.
