Mark Alan Brayton, age 47, of Kendallville, unexpectedly passed into Christ's eternal peace on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.  Mark was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 7, 1968 to David and Betty (Johns) Brayton, who survive in Rome City.  Mark graduated from East Noble High School in 1987 and spent two years at Ball State University.  In 2002, he proudly graduated from the intensive Wal-Mart Management Program. Mark worked at Colwell for many years, Courier, Wal-Mart, Rural King, and most recently, Tenneco in Ligonier.  On May 13, 1998, he married Jodi Watson at the Noble County Courthouse. To make sure it took, they followed it with a church wedding on August 29, 1998 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Avilla!  Mark's greatest joy in life was his beautiful daughter, Emily Jennifer.  His pride at being her father knew no bounds and he was sure to share it with everyone he knew.  Mark's personality was bigger than life.  He had an amazing sense of humor and absolutely loved to make people laugh.  His capacity to love others was boundless and he desired to help others in any way possible.  He could do anything he set his mind to do and made indelible prints on the hearts of all he knew.

He is survived by his wife, Jodi and daughter, Emily of Kendallville; his parents, David and Betty Brayton of Rome City; a brother, Aaron and Amy Brayton of West Lafayette;  father-in-law, Harlow Watson of Kendallville;  brother-in-law, Tim Watson of Kendallville; sister-in-law, Laura Watson of Kendallville;  nephews, Noah Brayton of Kendallville and Michael and Coral Watson of Austin, Texas;  nieces, Madison Brayton of Kendallville and Kayliegh (Brian) Watson of Champaign, Illinois;  loving aunts and uncles; and his grandma, Helen Johns of Columbia City.  He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Christopher; his mother-in-law Maxine Watson;  brother-in-law Craig Watson;  and two grandfathers and a grandmother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 1:00-3:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm with Pastor Rich Laskowski officiating the service.  Memorial donations may be made to help the family.
