Paul "Wade" Liebing of Kendallville, formerly of Avilla, 86, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.  He was born on November 6, 1930 in Kendallville to the late Paul E. and Idress (Wright) Liebing.  Paul graduated from Kendallville High School in 1948.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Magnavox in 1992.  Paul was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church (Charter Member) in Avilla.  He served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, on the finance Committee, and Ad Council for the Church.  He also volunteered his time at the food pantry.  Paul did many wood working projects for his church and was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.  Paul married Ann J. Christensen on September 27, 1952 at the Swan Methodist Church in Swan, Indiana and she survives in Kendallville.  Also surviving are two daughters, Darlene (Gary) Kandel of Kendallville; Deb (John) Feighner of Fort Wayne; one son, Gary (Deb) Liebing of Fort Wayne; Eleven grandchildren; Melissa (Don) Bullock; Matt (Shelby) Liebing; Jessica (Charlie) James; Jenafer Liebing; Brett (Alissa) Liebing; Carrie Liebing; Erica (Chris) Wehrmeister; Adam (Chelle) VanWagner; Jacyln Kandel; Karly Kandel; and Emily Lilly.  He also has fourteen great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are a sister, Shirley Beiswanger of Kendallville and a brother, Lynn (Lois) Liebing of Avilla.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Richard L. VanWagner III.  After Paul retired, he enjoyed building and creating wood working pieces for his children, grandchildren, family and friends.  He and his wife traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Paul was a wonderful cook and prepared many special meals for family and friends.  In the evening, he loved watching TV and was an avid Indiana University basketball fan.  
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street, Kendallville, Indiana 46755
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 125 Cherry Street, Avilla, Indiana 46710.
Burial will take place at Swan Cemetery.
Officiating the funeral services will be Rev. Shalimar W. Holderly.
Casketbearers will be Matt Liebing, Adam VanWagner, Chris Wehrmeister, Charlie James, Brett Liebing, and Steven McCormack.  
Honorary Casketbearers will be Don Bullock, Gary Kandel, and John Feighner.  
Memorial Donations may be directed to Calvary United Methodist Church or Visiting Nurse Hospice.
