Raymond Leroy Gordon, age 90, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Bradenton, Florida. Mr. Gordon was born on August 8, 1927 in Churubusco, Indiana to the late Edward Elmer Gordon and Mabel Ann (Geiger) Gordon. He served his country in the Merchant Marines as a Seaman First Class during WWII. He married Luranelle Faye Jones on October 12, 1947 and she preceded him in death on April 12, 2008. He later married Joan (Harp) Herr on January 11, 2009 and she survives him. Ray was a lifetime farmer and owner of Gordon’s Campground near Big Long Lake for 36 years. He also was a school bus driver for Prairie Heights School Corporation and member of the South Milford Church of Christ.

Wife, Joan Gordon of Bradenton, Florida.
Son, Mike and Cindy Gordon of Nokomis, Florida.
Son, Ed and Georgia Gordon of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Daughter, Rainelle and Greg Silver of Stroh.
Son, Phil Gordon of Fort Wayne.
Nine grandchildren: Erica and Jeff Moody of Richmond, Kentucky; Jason and Holly Gordon of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; Abby and Mike Levitz of Angola; Mindy and Tyler Enyart of Westfield, Indiana; Sarah and Dustin Beilke of LaGrange; Brandon and Jayna Thompson of Cecilia, Kentucky; John and Laura Silver of Kendallville; Paul and Rupa Gordon of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Kyle Gordon of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
20 great grandchildren with one on the way: Kellea Moody, Dylan Wilkins, Ryan Wilkins, Austin Moody, Isiah Levitz, Sam Levitz, Matt Levitz, Ezekiel Gordon, Makayla Moody, Evelyn Gordon, Esther Gordon, Zachary Enyart, Audrey Enyart, Blake Silver, Rylee Silver, Clementine Beilke, Rohin Gordon, Eli Thompson, Camden Thompson, Kobe Thompson.
Two great-great grandchildren: Lucas Hacker and Ively Sheets.
Brother-in-law, Roy Caywood of Syracuse, Indiana.
Sister-in-law, Donna Hahn of Syracuse.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Clifford Gordon, Virgil Gordon, and Norman Gordon; and his sisters: LaVon Steffen, Inez Caywood, and Geneva Gordon.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville and one hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at South Milford Church of Christ with Pastor Brian Walter officiating.
Burial will take place at South Milford Cemetery with great grandchildren as pallbearers.
Preferred memorials are to South Milford Church of Christ.
