Raymond J. Karst

Raymond J. Karst, age 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne.  Mr. Karst was born on March 19, 1921 in Huntington County, Indiana to the late Edward and Anna (Scher) Karst.  He graduated from Huntington Catholic High School and served his country honorably with the United States Army during World War II.  On April 30, 1949, he married Georgia M. Allred at Saint Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Huntington County.  Raymond was the owner and operator of Crescent Avenue Gardens in Fort Wayne until he retired and wintered in Florida.  He was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Huntington County.  Raymond loved golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, shuffleboard and spending time with family and loved ones.

Wife, Georgia Karst of Fort Wayne.   
Son, Terry and Maggie Karst of Churubusco.
Son, Gary and Jada Karst of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Joyce and Denny Drury of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Kim and Jack Koehne of Fort Wayne.
11 Grandchildren
16 Great-grandchildren
Sister, Annette Morrow of Roanoke.  

Raymond was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Powers; brothers, Henry, Norbert, and Eugene Karst; sisters, Eileen Swoverland, Dolores Stoffel, and Helen Ludwig.      

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 am with visitation one-hour prior from 10-11:00 am at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne.
Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne.  
Officiating the funeral services is Father Polycarp Fernando.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice.
