TERRY EUGENE SPOHR, age 58, of Sylvan Lake near Kendallville, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 2, 2012 while working in Cleveland, Ohio. Terry was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 22, 1953 to Stanley and Grace Alberta Spohr. He graduated from East Noble High School in 1972 and received engineering degrees from both Purdue University and Indiana Wesleyan University.
Terry was an active member of the Rome City United Methodist Church, the Noble County Tractor Club, and a volunteer at Gene Stratton Porter Home in Rome City.
Survivors include:
His wife, Pamela Spohr of Kendallville.
Son, Joseph Spohr of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Daughter, Lindsey Spohr of Avilla.
Daughter, Holly and Jeremy Huckstep of Greenwood, Indiana.
Granddaughter, Gracyanne Huckstep.
Mother and father, Grace and Stanley Spohr of Avilla.
Sister, Lori and Rich Butler of Fleming Island, Florida.
Sister, Julie and Chuck Wolfe of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Spohr and his mother and father-in-law, Russell and Theda Vosberg.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 3:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10:30am at Calvary United Methodist Church in Avilla.
There will be an hour of visitation before the funeral service begins.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Barbara Cross.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Kendallville.
Preferred memorials may be made to Rome City United Methodist Church.
Casketbearers will be Joe Spohr, Jeremy Huckstep, Shane Hart, Jonathan Spohr, Tom Fortman, and Chuck Rhodes.
