VONDA COLLINS, age 61, of Stroh, passed away on Monday, September 17th at her home with her family by her side near Stroh.

Mrs. Collins was born in McKee, Kentucky on December 27, 1945 to Toney and Ethel Mae (Gibson) McKinney.

She married childhood sweetheart Willie Collins on June 1, 1963 on Rock Fork Creek, near Garrett, Kentucky.

Vonda lived in Indiana for 44 years. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her Mt. Calvary United Baptist Church family and worshipping God.
Vonda enjoyed planting and tending to her flower gardens and also sewing.

Survivors include:
Husband, Rev. Willie Collins of Stroh.
Seven daughters and their spouses:
Teresa Collins and her companion Randy Sliger both of Kendallville.
Ronda and Bill Adamo of Garrett, Indiana.
Sandra and Dominick Green of Stroh.
Deborah and Gary Green of Hudson.
Brittney and Richard Smith of Stroh.
Bridget and Brent Sage of Kendallville.
Brooke Collins of Stroh.

11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren

Sister, Judy and James Collins of Kendallville
Sister, Janet Arnold of Kendallville.
Brother, Jimmy and Vickie Scott of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by parents; grandson, Willie Dewayne Halsey in 1988; and three infant brothers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18th, after 4:00pm at Mt. Calvary United Baptist in Stroh.
Visitation will also be Wednesday, September 19th, all day and evening at the church.
Evening services will be held both nights at 6:00pm.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 20th at 11:00am at Mt. Calvary.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. John White, Rev. Lee Combs, and Rev. Bethel Bolen.
Burial will be at Woodruff Cemetery in Wolcottville.

Preferred Memorials may be made to the Collins Family in care of Hite Funeral Home.

Active Casketbearers will be James Collins, Ted Slone, Earl Handshoe, Damon Handshoe, Jim Tuttle, Oberine Gibson, and Oscar Handshoe.

Honorary Bearers will be Claude Manns, Mark Gayheart, Denzil Hyler, Bill Wicker, Rev. Birtchell Mosley, Jr.
