JEDDIE "JACK" BOWLES,age 84, of Muncie died on Monday, March 5, 2012 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Mr. Bowles was born in Morehead, Kentucky on January 9, 1928 to the late McKinley Steven and Olive Nola (Wells) Bowles.   He served his country from during WWII in the United States Army and trained with the Mountain Men at Camp Carson, Colorado. He also served with the Army National Guard, 151st Infantry Division. He married Virginia Ruth Hayes on June 23, 1950 in Muncie. Jack was retired from Borg-Warner in Muncie after 39 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #19 of Muncie. Jack loved fishing, sports, reading, gardening, and telling stories. But most importantly, he loved and cared for his family and was a wonderful father and grandpa.
 
Survivors include:
His spouse of 61 years, Virginia Ruth Bowles of Muncie.
Daughter, Linda and Kenny Fannin of Parker City, Indiana.
Son, Terry and Evelyn Bowles of Yorktown, Virginia.
Daughter, Connie and Mel Lamb of Cary, North Carolina.
Daughter, Brenda and David Foreman of Muncie.
Seven grandchildren: Cathy Foreman of Albany; Jeddie Eppard of Muncie; Kristi Eppard of Montpelier; Bruce Bryant of Muncie; Brianna Pierce of Crownpoint; Jonathan Lamb of Cary, North Carolina; and Laura Bowles of Dallas, Texas.
11 great-grandchildren.
Sister, June Rotunda of Edgewater, Florida.
Sister, Betty Quinn of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Sister, Doris Gilland of Daleville, Indiana.
 
He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara Harshman; grandson, Isaac Lee Bowles; three brothers, Roy, Elmer "Dick", and John Bowles; and sister, Darlene Bowles.
 
Visitation will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at Muncie Christian Center, 1824 South Walnut Street, Muncie, Indiana.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Muncie Christian Center.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Tim King.
Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the tornado victims in southern Indiana thru the American Red Cross.
