Margaret A. Persons, 82 formerly of Kendallville and most recently of Pinehurst North Carolina, passed away at the First Health Hospital in Pinehurst on July 26, 2010. Margaret was born February 19, 1928 in Laotto, Indiana to Conrad and Josephine Beltz. She was the youngest of the 8 Beltz children, all of whom have proceeded her in death.
Margaret married Edwin Persons, Sr. in 1947, and they were blessed with two children. Margaret is survived by her husband Ed, daughter Connie Heimann and son-inlaw Jack, all of Pinehurst; plus grandson Greg Heimann with wife Michele, great-grandson Gavin and great-granddaughter Estel of Tampa Florida, plus grandson Carey with wife Liza and great-grandson Oliver of St.Louis. Margaret and Ed's son Bud Persons passed away in 2002.
Margaret was a strong supporter of her broad Indiana family, and easily made friends in Missouri where they also lived for nearly 20 years. As with her 4 sisters, she was a great cook.
Like many members of the original Beltz family, Margaret maintained a membership or loyalty to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in her hometown of Laotto Indiana, where funeral services will be held on Thursday July 29th at 11:00am.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville and an hour before the funeral service at the church.
Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Uncle Edwin, I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Tot. I often think of your family and their strong relationship with each other. I have such fond memories of when Tot and you took me in for those months back in 1962. Tot made me a part of your family's life with church, handling all the busy days and school activities for Connie, Buddy and then me. She made sure to make me part of the family. She has always been a wonderful person to me and I will miss her kindness.

Uncle Edwin, I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Tot. All of you have a special place in my thoughts. Aunt Tot, you, Connie and Buddy made me feel like one of the family when you took me in for those 6 months back in 1963. She had to put up with a second 13 year old with all the additional school and activities kids create. Tot was special and was wonderful to me.
