Phyllis Jean Fox, age 83, of Kendallville, died on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
Mrs. Fox was born in Kendallville on October 4, 1926 to the late Albert and Iva Corrine Schmuck.
She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1944 and married Jean B. Fox on February 20, 1946 in Kendallville.
Jean was a homemaker and retired as a parttime bookkeeper with L.H. Gunsaulus and Sons in Kendallville.
She was a member of the Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville, and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids, working crossword and word search puzzles.

Her husband, Jean Fox of Kendallville.
Daughter, Linda and Dean DeGroff of Kendallville.
Daughter, Stacy and John Cochard of Kendallville.
Daughter-in-law, Laura Fox of Missoula, Montanta.
Grandchildren: Douglas and Rebecca DeGroff of Kendallville; Alan Fox of Missoula, Montana; Audrey and Brian Paul of Wolf Lake; Emily Cochard of Kendallville; and Justin Cochard of Kendallville.
Four great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Dan Fox, PhD., on March 20, 1999; her sisters, Beulah Lash, Irene Cain, Margaret Shippy, Alberta Jackson, Marjorie Springer, Cleo McKean, Thelma Grossman, Kate Munk and her brother, Warren Schmuck.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00am at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Bob Farmer.
Memorials are to Lutheran Life Villages or Parkview Noble Hospice.
Arrangements are in the care of Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.
