Barbara Staller Obituary

Barbara Jean (Hart) West Staller, 87, of Fort Wayne, left her earthly home for her Heavenly home on April 22, 2024. She was born in Cecil, Ohio on September 7, 1936, to Elva Hart and AlenaBelle (Calvin) Hart. She graduated from Antwerp High School and after several years of being a farmer as well as a stay-at-home mother. She decided she needed a change in her life and ventured out to obtain her nursing degree at IPFW. She dedicated many years of her life to save other’s lives at various hospitals. She also dedicated some years of her life to help others find their eternal life in Heaven by becoming a missionary. She was devoted to church, family, and friends. She was also a major animal lover. She was an avid traveler. She was also quite the storyteller and loved to share stories from the past.

Jean is survived by:

Two daughters: Georganna Balogh and Jennifer “Jennie” Sevits (Mike).

Two sons: William “Buck” West Jr (Sharon) and Mel West (Cheryl).

Grandchildren: Brandy West-Turnbull, Robert “Robby” Wheeler, Samantha “Sam” VanHoose (Jon), Kendall Penley (Josh), Cody West, Brittany Byrom (James), Brandon VanDam, Joseph “Joe” Sevits (Lindsay), Noah Sevits (Chanda), Derrik West (Katie), and Connor West.

Great grandchildren: Zach Smith, Jade Balogh (Jesse), Jeremy Smith, Olivia Stark(Mitchell), Ruthann Smith (James), Abby Smith, Joey VanHoose, James Byrom, Colton Wheeler, Regan VanHoose, Rollene Sevits, Arbor Sevits, and Ansley Vanhoose.

Great-great grandchildren: Jessica Smith and Damon Smith.

She is also survived by numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Elva Hart and Alena Belle (Calvin) Hart; her brother, Elva “Junior” Hart; her son, Edgar West; her son-in-law, Frank Balogh; and four of her husbands.

Her funeral service will be graveside at Bethel Cemetery, Steuben County, 6000 S. 900 E., Hamilton, Indiana at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
