Our beloved daughter, Melissa, lost her battle with cancer on March 31, 2024. She was at home and passed peacefully in the company of her mother, stepfather, and great niece at 1:30 a.m. Easter morning. She was born August 2, 1973, in Princeton, West Virginia to the parents of Harry Thomas Crockett and Donna Ann (Keaton) Crockett. Melissa graduated from Herbert Henry Dow High School in June 1993. Following graduation, Melissa worked as a shipping receiving clerk at SWS-Trimac, in Saginaw, Michigan. After a move to Fort Wayne, Indiana, Melissa worked for the YMCA.
Melissa is survived by her father, Harry Crockett; stepmother Judy Crockett; mother, Donna Morley; stepfather, Jay Morley; sister, Ashley Napariu; brother-in-law, Eric Napariu; and nieces, Aris, and Kamrynn; and nephews, Jayson and Jack.
Melissa loved children. She worked in nurseries in the churches she attended and had a special heart for babies. Her calm and loving demeanor was a natural gift and it was shown in her care and loving attitude toward everyone she met and worked with.
In lieu of a funeral, those who wish to remember Melissa, may make a special gift to a cancer research or care facility of their choice.
