Gene (Boszor) Wible

Gene Marie Wible, age 99, of Kendallville, died July 12, 2021 at Kingston at Dupont in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Wible was born on Mott Street in Kendallville, Indiana on December 18, 1921 to the late Chester Mirl Boszor and Bertha (Sawyer) Boszor. Gene graduated from Kendallville High School in 1940 and married Arthur David Wible on February 26, 1944 at their family home in Kendallville. Dave preceded her death on January 18, 2006. They were owners and operators of Wible’s Department Store in Wolcottville from 1948-1977. She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville. Gene was a 50 year member of both the Order of Eastern Star, Sylvan Chapter 251 and the American Legion Post 86 auxillary where she was a past president of the auxilary. 

Survivors include:
Two sisters-in-law, Kathleen DeCamp of Fort Wayne and Betty Shookman of Indianapolis.
Nieces and nephews: Janet Simmermon of Indianapolis; Tom and Jan DeCamp of Auburn; Joe and Jill DeCamp of Fort Wayne; Holly and Vince Maranto of Fort Wayne; and Mike and Dorothy Wolf of Alto, Michigan.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Wolf; brother-in-law, Miles Shookman; brother-in-law, Richard DeCamp and nephew, Jeff Wolf.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home. Rev. Steven McPeek will officiate the funeral service.
Private burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville.
