BETTY LOU HAMMAC, age 61, of Kendallville died on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born in LaGrange on February 5, 1951 to Morris Frain and Goldie Louise (Adcox) Frain. 

Betty worked for Plastic Matics in Albion for 10 years from 1970 to 1980, Sage in Kendallville from 1980 to 1983, Zanexx in Avilla from 1983 to 1988 and then Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla from 2001 until 2009. 

She enjoyed crafts, sewing and she like to bake.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Survivors include:

Two sons, Ronnie Maynard of Kendallville and Jamie Maynard of Williamson, West Virginia.
One daughter, Nellie Kirkendall and son-in-law, Randy Kirkendall Jr. of Edon, Ohio.
Six grandchildren, Benjamin Mathews, Renay Mathews, James Mathews, Rayleen Smith, Mystery Patell and Justin Maynard.
Nine great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Michael Frain of Kendallville;  Steve and Donna Frain of Kendallville;  and Morris Frain of Sturgis, Michigan.
Four sisters, Diana and Butch Stewart of Georgetown, Georgia; Delores and Lynn Reece of New Providence, Iowa; Mary Deal of Sturgis, Michigan; and Tammy and Randy Dodson of Albion.
Her boyfriend, Edwin Ackerman of Corunna. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Beatrice Maynard and Jonell Maynard, her first husband; Ray Maynard who passed away July 13, 1993, her second husband; James Hammac who passed away May 31, 2006 and one granddaughter; Kamie Rea Maynard who passed away in 1991. 

Visitation will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 at Hite Funeral Home.

Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Carter Hicks.

Burial will be at Orange Cemetery in Rome City at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
