David M. Lash, age 78, died Monday, May 20, 2019 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.  David was born in Kendallville, Indiana on December 27, 1940 to the late Francis Joseph and Modesta L. (Fought) Lash.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962.  He married Carolyn Louise DeLong on October 24, 1964 in Kendallville. Carolyn preceded him in death on May 3, 2010.  Dave owned and operated Lash Garage and Wrecker Service from 1979 until his retirement in 2013.

Survivors include:
Son, Lynn and Brenda Lash of Avilla.
Son, Jim Lash of Avilla.
Five grandchildren: Ashley and Nate Rodenbeck of Avilla; Aaron and Ashley Lash of Avilla; Austin Lash of Avilla; Nicholas Lash and Lauren Lash both of Avilla.
Four great grandchildren: Colten and Casen Rodenbeck; Layna and Brody Lash. 
Brother, Larry “Butch” Lash and his companion, Linda of Kendallville.
Sister, Dora Mae and Norman Hartman of Kendallville.
Sister, Wendy and Kellen Smith of Kendallville.
Sister, Nancy Traxler of Kendallville.

Aunt, Betty Gerbeth.
Brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold DeLong of Auburn; Robert DeLong of Stroh; LeRoy and Jane DeLong of Auburn; Hugh and Ramonda DeLong of Albion; Paul and Sherri DeLong of Churubusco; Loretta and Charles Nesbitt of Avilla; Diana Morse of Kendallville.  Many nieces and nephews also survive. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Barbara DeLong, Janice DeLong, Irene (Fischer) DeLong; brother-in-law, Dale DeLong, Jack Traxler, Thomas Morse; and a nephew, Steven DeLong, and a niece, Mary Day.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at Harbor of Love Baptist Church near Kendallville with a rosary service at 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Harbor of Love Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Mosley officiating.  There will be visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral service.
Burial with military honors will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Avilla.
Casketbearers will be Aaron Lash, Austin Lash, Nate Rodenbeck, Lauren Lash, Nicholas Lash, Zack Smith, Jeff Wirick, and Rocky Blaskie. 
Memorial donations may be made to Parkview Noble Hospice.
