Doris Elaine Combs, age 92, of Kendallville died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.  Mrs. Combs was born on February 23, 1926 in Kendallville, Indiana to Paul E. and Clotiel V. (Palmer) Graham.  She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1944 and married Floyd O. Maxson, Jr. on October 5, 1946 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church parsonage.  Floyd preceded her in death on October 6, 1972.  On January 21, 1978, she married Dale Gene Combs at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. Dale recently passed away on April 2, 2018. Doris was employed for many years at Flint & Walling and she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Rosary Sodality, V.F.W. Post 2749 auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 86 auxiliary.

Survivors include:
Son, Alan and Sue Maxson of Kendallville.
Daughter, Kay and Jim Rose of Wawaka.
Daughter, Beth and Clark Ream of Kendallville.
Step daughter, Connie and Mike Baker of Avilla.
Step son, Thomas Gene and Connie Jo Combs of Syracuse. 
13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren (with one on the way!), and two great–great grandchildren.
Sister, Jane Forker of Kendallville.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 -7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home with the Rosary service at 7:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. James Stoyle officiating.
Burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to masses or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
