Dorothy Hicks, age 76, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Hicks was born in Auburn, Indiana on December 8, 1940 to the late Russell Curtis Ridenour and Lillian Mae (Garrison) Ridenour.  She married Russell Nelson Hicks on September 9, 1962 in Nolan, West Virginia and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2010.  Dorothy loved her family and she was devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of the Brimfield Revival Center where she loved attending worship services.  She was a hardworking factory worker and in her spare time loved doing yard work.  She also loved animals, especially her dog, Baby Girl and her cat, Pumpkin.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Kathleen Simpkins of Kendallville.
Daughter, Barbara Hicks of Topeka.
Son, Ronnie Lee Hicks of Kendallville.
Daughter, Thelma Hicks Elkins and Rod Elkins of Rome City.
Son, Ruben and Sandra Hicks of Kendallville.
Daughter, Amanda and Alan Zimmerman of Topeka.
15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Delores and Eugene Porter of Angola.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Zimmerman; brother, Charles Ridenour; and infant brother, David Ridenour. 

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at the New Life Tabernacle, 609 North Patty Lane in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the New Life Tabernacle. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
Pastor Austin Gilliland and Pastor Brett Frick will conduct the funeral service.
Burial will take place at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Pallbearers will be Ruben Hicks, Rod Elkins, Michael Newell, Jonathan Newell, Mark Linn, Joseph Campbell and Charles Porter.
Memorial donations may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.
