Dorothy Ramey, age 88, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at home. Mrs. Ramey was born at Laurel Fork near Quicksand, Kentucky on April 4, 1930 to the late John and Ellen (Handshoe) Terry. She married Sam Ramey at Upper Ball, Knott County, Kentucky in 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1986. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also cleaned Campbell & Fetter Bank for 27 years.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Ruth and Doug Dukes of Milford, Indiana.
Daughter, Mary and Monty Schuman of Firestone, Colorado.
Daughter, Mat and Bob Hoover of McMinnville, Tennessee.
Daughter, Linda and David Smith of Fort Wayne.
Son, Jack and Sarah Ramey of Peachtree City, Georgia.
Son, Don Ramey of Avilla.
12 grandchildren: Carla and AJ Dzenowagis of Fayetteville, GA; Kyle and Mindy Dukes of Milford; Kristi and Shane Bucher of Milford; Paul and Michele Schuman of Bedford, Massachusetts; Angela and Andy McIntosh of Wheat Ridge, CO; Danny Hoover of McMinnville, TN; Melissa and Jay Bracewell of Ashland City, TN; Erin Hoover of McMinnville, TN; Amanda Smith of Fort Wayne; Scott Smith of Fort Wayne; Jessica Ramey of Nairobi, Africa; Jason and Hillary Ramey of Senioa, GA and special children Lexus, Olivia, and Gavin. 12 great grandchildren.
Brother, Rada Terry of Lexington, Kentucky.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bee Ramey 1974; sisters, Flora Hoover and Laura Ramey; brothers, Arnold Terry, Chester Terry, Curtis Terry; half brother, Clark Casebolt; step brother, Oscar Handshoe; step sisters, Maggie Groh and Edith Conley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Rev. Dr. Dan Barker will officiate the funeral service.
Visitation will also be held Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Christian Union Cemetery near Garrett, Indiana.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
