I didn’t know Dorothy nearly long enough. I loved Aunt Dot the moment I met her. She was always so welcoming to my son and me on our visits to Kendallville. She shared her books with me and we liked a lot of the same authors. We also shared an unfortunate love for donuts! She had a zest for life and real compassion for others, qualities perpetuated in her wonderful children. I’m so glad she and my Uncle Bob found each other. I will miss her greatly, and remember her kindness and fabulous sense of humor always.

Dorothy and I worked together in the Noble County Laubach Literacy Council and I just wanted to send my condolences. Her warm smile welcomed those who took wanted to improve their literacy skills, as well as those who volunteered to help. Thank you, Dorothy, for lighting up this world with your faith, caring and dedication to improving the lives of others.

Favorite mom (after mine of course!) when I was growing up in Brant Lake. My mom was regularly calling to locate me cause I slept over frequently. She was a wonderful human being with an exceptional spirit, which she needed when we would invade her house! I'm sure Forrest was waiting with open arms when she arrived in heaven! May your spirit be in eternal peace in heaven with God our father

I only knew your mom briefly, before she moved to Kendallville. But in that time I loved who she was. She had a great sense of humor and didn’t hold our first encounter against me. It was at Lillian and Charles. I jokingly called Julie a whore and she said, I’d like you to meet my mother.” I was so embarrassed! But your mom just laughed. She welcomed me into your circle. I have thought about all of you often and am so sorry for the lose of your mom. I pray God’s peace, comfort and strength for you all.
