Helen Thomas

The family of Helen Fae Thomas will have a graveside service at Sweet Cemetery, 9/23, 2017 at 1:00PM.  Her ashes will be buried next to her husband, Gerald Edgar Thomas.  Pastor Regan Ford will preside.  Helen was born May 19, 1923 and died July 10, 2017 in her son's home in Westfield, Indiana with her son, John and his wife Kathy, grandchild, Jennifer Thomas, and nephew Rex Emerick at her bed side.  

She was born to Grover Cleveland Curie and Lodema (Ridgeway) Curie in St. Joe, Indiana and she graduated from Kendallville High School in 1941.  She retired as office manager in 1986 from McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville. After retiring she moved to her home at Sylvan Lake where she enjoyed the water, spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her daughters, Judith (Thomas) Terry and Jeanne (Thomas) Reade and her son Gerald (Jerry) Thomas. She had eight siblings who preceded her in death including former Kendallville residents Katy Emerick, Bonnie Curie, and brother, Keith Curie.  

She is survived by her son, John and Kathy Thomas and her daughter, Janet and Nevin Aiken.  Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
