Imogene “Jeannie” Petersen, age 73, died at home on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Petersen was born in Emmalena, Kentucky on September 1, 1944 to Herbert and Armelda (Perkins) Ritchie. She married Allen Earl Petersen on August 12, 1972 in Cromwell, Indiana. Jeannie worked nearly 40 years at Starcraft RV in Topeka before retiring in 2007. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include:
Husband, Allen Petersen of Albion.
Son, Tommy Dwayne Sutton of Wolcottville.
Daughter, Wanda Lynn and Kyle Hunt of Kendallville.
Daughter, Tonya Jean and Jesse Yates of Albion.
9 grandchildren: Myranda Sutton and her fiancé, Josh Smith of Kendallville; Tommy Allen and Megan Sutton of Hudson; Todd Michael and Amanda Sutton of Kendallville; Andria Jean and Corey Short of Kendallville; Kassandra Louise and Joe Vanderpool of Kendallville; Charles Boone and Savannah Hunt of Monroe; Jeremy and Jamie Yates of Columbia City; Christie and Ricky Wysong of Avilla; and Justin and Joelle Yates of Fort Wayne and 23 great grandchildren.
Brother, Estil “Audie” and Joy Ritchie of Rome City.
Sister, Kathleen “Kat” and Hank Williams of Rome City.
Sister, Betty and Bob Campbell of Beck Lake near Kendallville.
Brother, Tom and Michele Ritchie of Ligonier.
Sister, Rita Campbell of Rome City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Maxine Campbell in 2010.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church on U.S. Hwy 6 west of Kendallville at S.R. 9 north.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn Shepherd officiating. There will be visitation at 10:00 AM before the service.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
