Joanna Mae (Wells) Herendeen

Joanna Mae Herendeen, age 90, formerly of Wawaka and most recently of Kendallville, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. Mrs. Herendeen was born in Kendallville, Indiana on October 3, 1927 to the late Merrill and Wahneta (Blackman) Wells. She married James Estel Herendeen on July 28, 1945 at the Church of God in Kendallville and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2001.  Joanna was employed with King Seeley in Kendallville for 17 years before retiring in 1992.

Survivors include:
Daughter, Barbara and Ervin Huth of Wolcottville.
Son, Larry Herendeen of Garrett.
Daughter, Sharon and Lonnie Waltenberger of Kendallville.
Six grandchildren: Lisa and Lavon Raber of Wolcottville; Tom and Pam Huth of Wolcottville; Robert and Melissa Huth of Wolcottville; Tammy and Troy Bender of Kendallville; Tara and Tony Braden of Avilla; and Jessica Herendeen of Garrett.
14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary Herendeen and Jimmy Herendeen; a grandson, Kenny Lindley; and two brothers, Robert Wells and Larry Franklin Wells.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with visitation from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Burial will take place at Orange Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Raber, Trevor Braden, Tony Braden, Tom Huth, Bob Huth and Tyler Renfrow.
