Josephine Mabel Carmer Patterson, went to be with God early April 5th, 2018 at 6:40 am. She was the wife of Roy Patterson, deceased in 1976, who she fell in love with and married in October of 1959. Born in Brimfield, IN, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Altimus Carmer and grandaughter of Willis Altimus. Josephine is survived by her four daughters; Judy Gross and husband Bill of Lehighton, PA., Jennifer Patterson of Ft. Wayne, Jeanette Johnson and husband Scott of Kendallville, Jacinda Beihold and husband Gary of Roanoke and by her grandchildren; Derek of NJ, John of FL, Heather of Kendallville and Justin, Alex and Eric of Roanoke. She was also blessed with seven great- grandchildren. Josephine was awarded the Noble County 8th grade medal for scholarship, leadership, honor, courage and service in 1939 and graduated North Side High School class of 1943. She supported the second World War effort by working at the Fort Wayne General Electric. Her interests included roller skating, rose and container gardening, raising children, and dancing.
Visitation is at the Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville, IN on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with services following at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Orange Cemetery, Noble County. Memorials to Ft. Wayne Children's Zoo or Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements entrusted to Hite Funeral Home of Kendallville.
