June Koontz Obituary

June Louise Koontz, age 87, of rural Fort Wayne, died Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Koontz was born June 25, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Frederich and Agnes (Heidrich) Vaughn.  She graduated from Arcola High School in 1949 and attended International Business College for one year.  She married Gordon Henry Koontz on July 25, 1959 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arcola. June was a homemaker and mother while raising her children. She was employed early on with General Electric for ten years and later with Supermarket Service.

Survivors include:
Husband, Gordon Koontz of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Patricia and Brent Harrold of Columbia City.
Daughter, Janice and Charles Craft of Huntertown.
Daughter, Donna and Stephen Ankenbruck of Roanoke.
Daughter, Joan and Keith Felger of Churubusco.
8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Like a son, Amar Hussain of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Virginia Gall of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Marion Vaughn, Ronald Vaughn, Kenneth Vaughn, James Vaughn, Hillis Willig, and Alys Berlin.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Road, Arcola, Indiana 46818 with the Rosary at 4:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arcola with Fr. Thadeus Balinda officiating the mass. There will be visitation one hour prior to the mass. 
Burial will take place at Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
Memorial donations may be made to the church or masses.
