Kenneth Luther Spencer, age 67, died Monday, September 3, 2018 at his residence in Kendallville. Kenny was born on January 17, 1951 in Wolf Lake, Indiana to the late Lesley Clayton “Tim” Spencer and Lucille (Mullins) Spencer.  He graduated from East Noble High School in 1969 and entered into the United States Army where he honorably served his country from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam War. He purchased the Big Blue Market on South Main Street in Kendallville in 2005, changed the name to Southside Market, and operated the market until it closed in 2013.  He married Sharon Kay Gordon in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 24, 2000. Kenny loved music and he started up the band “Spirit” in 1980. The band played all over the tri-state area until 2013.  

Survivors include:
Wife, Sharon Spencer of Kendallville.
Daughter, Jennifer and Huey White of Kendallville.
Son, Steve and Melissa Spencer of Kendallville.
Daughter, Nikole and Carl Spitznaugle of Kendallville.
Step son, Brad and Susan Goodman of Avilla.
Step daughter, Lisa and Benjamin Dykstra of Avilla.
Five grandsons: Caleb Henschen, Christopher Spencer, Jacob Spencer, Isaac Spencer, and Andrew Patrick.
Four step granddaughters: Tiffany Terry, Tosha Terry, Sierra Goodman, Brittnay Goodman and three step great grandchildren.
Sister, Cheryl and William “Billy” Cunningham of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Lesley Allen “Al” and Vianna Spencer of Kendallville.
Brother, Danny and Karen Spencer of Kendallville.
Many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
A funeral service and military honors will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be given to the ALS Association.
