Kern Collins

Kern Collins, age 65, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his residence in Kendallville. Mr. Collins was born on December 15, 1952 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky to Rodolph (1998) and Fannie (Hicks) 1994) Collins.  He married Lena Louise Belcher on September 21, 1973 in Kendallville, Indiana. Kern worked in the foundry since he was 16 years old. He was employed a total of 41 years with Kendallville Foundry, Auburn Foundry and Newnam Foundry before retiring in 2009 when Dalton Foundry closed.

Wife, Lena Collins of Kendallville.
Daughter, Lena Renee Collins of Kendallville.
Daughter, Michelle and Jason Gonzales of Kendallville.
Daughter, Patricia and Donald Johnston of Waterloo.
Son, Andy and Heather White of Ashley.
Son, Timothy and Angel Collins of Kendallville.
17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Brother, Rev. Willie and Virginia Collins of Waterloo.
Brother, James and Joyce Collins of Kendallville.
Brother, Jerry Collins of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Denzil Hyler of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Robert Collins of Indianapolis.
Sister, Sally and Ronald Squires of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Stroh with Rev. Willie Collins officiating the service.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 26, 2018 after 3:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Stroh. There will be an evening service at 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Burial will take place at Woodruff Cemetery.
