Lucille J. (Sites) Holsinger

LUCILLE J. HOLSINGER, age 92, of Rome City died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Life Care Center in LaGrange.

She was born in Fort Wayne on July 28, 1920 to Dewey Sites and Jeannette (Smithers) Sites. 

Mrs. Holsinger graduated from Rome City High School in 1938.          

She married Harry Holsinger on September 17, 1939 in Rome City and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2009.  

Mrs. Holsinger and her husband owned and operated the Holsinger Market grocery store in Rome City for 39 years from 1940 to 1979.  Together they traveled all over the world and later enjoyed spending the wintertime in Florida.  She was a member of the Rome City United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include:

one son; Donald (Kathy) Holsinger of Ligonier.
one daughter; Karen(Delmer)Richmond of Fort Wayne.
six grandchildren; Michael (Sandy) Richmond, Mark (Esther)Richmond, Matthew Richmond and Marty Gilbert, Holly (Doug) Richcreek, Kelly (Jake) Tusing and Steve (April) Holsinger.
eleven great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
one sister; Betty Cobbs of West Jefferson, Ohio and one brother; Tom (Pat) Fitch.
daughter-in-law; Darlene Holsinger of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Harry Holsinger, one son; Stephen Neil Holsinger, one grandaughter, Dedra Holsinger, one grandson; Brian Holsinger, one great grandson; Chase Richmond, one brother; Joe Sites and one sister; Virginia Bragg. 

Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2013 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home.

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Kevin Brower.

Burial will be at Orange Cemetery in Rome City.

Preferred memorials may be made to Rome City United Methodist Church.
