Marcia Jane (Adair) Garrett, age 70, of Brimfield, Indiana died Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Garrett was born July 8, 1948 in Lucky Hospital, Wolf Lake, Indiana to the late Max Adair and Mary Elizabeth (McCarty) Adair. She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1966 and married Jack D. Garrett on May 29, 1977 in Brimfield. She traveled extensively over many years, as her husband, Jack was a career United States Marine. She was a member of the Patriot Guard and Brimfield United Methodist Church and an active historian and publisher of the Brimfield Bum Banner and church newsletter. She was an avid fan of East Noble Knights Football and always took her seat at the fifty yard line for all the home games.
Survivors include:
Husband of 42 years, Jack Garrett of Brimfield.
Daughter, Tammy Garrett of Kendallville.
Son, Bryan Garrett and his fiancé, Jennifer Rose both of Warsaw.
Son, James and Jenna Garrett of Kendallville.
Daughter-in-law, Beth Garrett Metz and Frank Metz of Sturgis, Michigan.
Six grandchildren: Kaity Garrett of Huntertown; Logan Garrett and significant other, Destany Manns both of Auburn; Kyle Garrett of Albion and his significant other, Kate Tierney of Avilla; Caylan Eichelberger and significant other, Deana Haire and baby, Calia all of Kendallville; Sawyer Rose of Kendallville; and Mason Douglas Garrett of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Robert (Levi) Garrett.
Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Brimfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Burghduff officiating.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Memorial donations may be made to Brimfield United Methodist Church or Indiana Patriot Guard.
