Raymond "Ray" Carl Heileman Sr., age 82, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his residence.  Mr. Heileman was born on August 26, 1935 in Kendallville, Indiana to the late Christian and Ruth Esther (Myers) Heileman.  Raymond received his education at various schools including, a couple one room school houses in rural noble county, Kendallville, Rehobeth, and Lutheran schools.  Mr. Heileman served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War.  On September 9, 1955, he married Roberta Ruth Moore in Ville Platte, Louisiana.  She preceded him in death on July 31, 2002.  He worked for Lane Foundry in Kendallville for 23 years until they closed in 1986 and then he went to work for NoSag for 10 years years until he retired in 1997.  For 30 years, Ray and Roberta were members of Freewill Baptsist Church in Waterloo.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 240 in Avilla.  Raymond loved to fish and hunt.  He was a fan of racing and baseball.  Ray enjoyed watching western films and listening to gospel and country music.

Son, Raymond Heileman of Albion.
Daughter, Vicky and Jerry Ferris of Albion.
Daughter, Deb and Steve Kline of Corunna.
Son, Roy and Betty Heileman of Ligonier.
Daughter, Nancy Heileman of Ligonier.  
Daughter, Ruth and Del Owen of Albion.
20 Grandchildren, 52 Great-grandchildren, and 7 Great-great-grandchildren.
Sister, Jenny Lee Severance of Fort Wayne.
Sister-in-law, Rebecca Thompson of Albion.
Brother-in-law, Gerald and Terry Hullinger of Albion.
Brother-in-law, Guy Jr. and Linda Moore of Texas.
Brother-in-law, Ronald and Vicky Moore of Sugarland, Texas.
Brother-in-law, William and Glenda Moore of Arkansas.

Ray was also preceded in death by his son; Jackie Ray Heileman, sisters; Pauline Smith, Rosa Russell, and Clara Fischer, brothers; Christley, Harold, and Martin Heileman.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street Kendallville, Indiana 46755.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00am with visitation one-hour prior from 10:00-11:00am at Freewill Baptist Church, 2833 County Road 27, Waterloo, Indiana 46793.
Burial with military honors will take place at Sweet Cemetery.
Officiating the funeral services is Pastor Ron Stambaugh.  
Memorial donations may be directed to Freewill Baptist Church or to the Donor's Choice.
