Richard Joseph Bauer

Richard Bauer, 88, recently of Spencerville and formally of Ft. Wayne, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Canterbury Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.  He was born August 8, 1928 in Fort Wayne to the late Ernest and Edna (Lehman) Bauer and he honorably served his country in the United States Navy for seven years.  He was retired from Rea Magnet Wire and he loved fishing and traveling, especially to Alaska.

Survivors include his son, Philip Bauer of Antwerp, Ohio; daughters, Sue Ann (Roger) Theis of Piedmont, South Dakota, Cheryl (Jon) Wilson of Spencerville, Indiana, and Jo Ellen (Dawn) Heilpap of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Donna Waters of Fort Wayne. 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  He was preceded in death by parents and wives, Rita Bauer and Naomi Bauer; son, Richard; daughter, Barbara, and brother, Ernest Bauer, Jr. 

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
