Richard David Smith, Jr.

Richard David "Gumby" Smith, Jr., age 59, of LaGrange County, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at home.  Mr. Smith was born in Coldwater, Michigan on October 15, 1958 to Richard David Smith, Sr. and Rilla Rosalie (Belote) Smith. He married Carrie Florence Rosenberry on April 15, 1983 in Coldwater, Michigan. Richard was employed with Dometic in LaGrange, Indiana.

Survivors include:
Wife, Carrie Smith of LaGrange.
Mother, Rilla Smith of Fort Wayne.
Son, Richard and Brittney Smith, III, of LaGrange.
Son, Derek and Brigette Smith of Constantine, Michigan.
Son, Joshua and Rose Smith of Angola.
16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Sister, Teena and Jerry Castleman of Monroeville, Indiana.
Brother, James Smith of South Bend.
Brother, Leonard Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Sister-in-law, Julie Smith of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and brother, Ray Smith.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 8:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
Visitation will also be Thursday after 4:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1175 E. at Depot Street in Stroh, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Collins officiating.
Burial will take place at Woodruff Cemetery.
