Ruth Marie (DeVaux) Weikel

Ruth Marie Weikel, age 90, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  Mrs. Weikel was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 16, 1929 to the late Adolph J. and Lucille B. (Thieke) DeVaux.  She married Hillard Ray Weikel in Fort Wayne on November 20, 1948 and he survives her. Ruth was employed with Ossian Elementary School in the cafeteria for many years before retiring in 1990. 

Survivors include:
Husband, Ray Weikel of Fort Wayne.
Daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Meredith of Englewood, Florida.
Daughter, Anita (Ronald) Witte of Coldwater, Michigan.
Daughter, Janice (Kim) Roberts of Coldwater, Michigan.
Son, Gerald “Gary” (Janet) Weikel of Ossian.
Son, Richard “Rick” (Melany) Weikel of Roanoke.
Son, Kent (Tina) Weikel of New Haven.
16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Niece, Donna Weathers of Wellington, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert DeVaux.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior to the service. Fr. Lawrence will officiate the mass. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
