Larry Wayne DeWitt, age 50, of Tipton, died unexpectedly on Saturday evening, November 2, 2019 at I.U. Health Hospital in Tipton, Indiana. Wayne was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 27, 1969 to Bill Wayne and Ellen Loretta (Carr) DeWitt. He attended Windfall Elementary School and graduated from Tri-Central High School in Sharpsville, Indiana in 1988. He entered into the United States Air Force after graduation where he honorably and proudly served his country in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was a proud war veteran and truly loved his flying days in the Air Force. He married Regina Kay Duncan of Tipton on November 24, 1990 and they had two children together, Stacia Dymond and Christopher DeWitt. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for IDI of Noblesville, Vectron of Kokomo and most recently, Park 100 of Tipton. Wayne loved hunting, fishing and the outdoor life.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Stacia Dymond and her companion, William Hankins of Sharpsville.
Son, Christopher DeWitt and his companion, Larissa Brown of Windfall.
One granddaughter, Skylar DeWitt.
Three grandsons; Jackson Marcum, Grayson Dymond and George Hawkins.
Parents, Bill and Loretta DeWitt of Windfall.
Sister, Cassandra DeWitt and her companion, Russ Hensley of West Lafayette, Indiana.
Niece, Karisa and Victor Nahodil and their children, Elizabeth and Levi.
Grandmother, Ellen Gentry of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Several close cousins and his companion Yolanda Richardson.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Elwood V.F.W. Post 5782 banquet room, 317 South 18th Street, Elwood, Indiana. Please use the back entrance door on the east side of the building. Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service and military honors at 3:00 PM. There will be a luncheon served following the service.
